Where are your desserts made?
All of our products are manufactured at our headquarters in Pietermaritzburg. -
Can private customers buy directly from you?
Yes. Private customers are welcome at our factory shop in Pietermaritzburg. -
Are your products Halaal?
All our products are certified Halaal by National Independent Halaal Trust (NIHT). Click here for a copy of our Halaal Certificate. -
Why are your products frozen?
We at Brenell are big on convenience. All our products are made fresh from scratch and are immediately blast frozen to preserve their fine flavours and textures for extended periods of time. This process allows our customers the convenience of having the finest desserts and cakes on hand, ready to be used when needed. Simply follow our storage and defrosting instructions and you will be rewarded with the same quality products we have become well known for. -
How long can I keep your desserts in the freezer?
All desserts and cakes have a Best Before date of 9 months from the time of production. All dates are clearly listed on each product’s label. -
How long can I keep your desserts once defrosted?
This is product dependent but a general guideline is 3-4 days under refrigeration. -
Do you use artificial cream?
No. We only use fresh cream as we strive to only use the best ingredients available. -
Do I need to place an order in advance?
For smaller quantities you are welcome to pop in and purchase on the day. For larger quantities it is advisable to place an order a few days in advance to avoid disappointment. -
Do you accept credit cards?

Yes. We work closely with a select group of appointed frozen food distributors, strategically located around the country. -

Can I buy directly?
All individual food service customers are serviced by our network of frozen food distributors. We do however have key account customers, that we supply directly (bulk orders only). Is allergen information available for your products?
Yes. We provide allergen declaration for each of our desserts and cakes. The allergen declaration can be found on each desserts individual page, simply click on each product image for details. -
